When the COVID-19 pandemic reached Kenya, we were able to respond immediately.
We provided the community with clear information about the virus, explained how to reduce the risk of infection, and promoted good hygiene practices.
Throughout the pandemic, we regularly distributed soap and helped cover the cost of filling the community’s water tanks, ensuring families had both clean water and the means to wash their hands.
Fortunately, no serious COVID-19 outbreaks were reported within the community. While studies suggest that many people in Kenya may have been infected without developing symptoms, access to clean water, good hygiene and the resilience of the community helped protect many families during this challenging period.
